The hotel where I stayed at Bangkok!

Saturday, June 25, 2005

Phew! Finally can write my blog today 'cos tomorrow I don't have to wake up early.
Yup!!! Continue my Bangkok adventure before I forget!

Thank God for my buddy, Hui. He arranged for his friend at Bangkok to pick us up from Ambassor Hotel and brought us to Bangkok Palace Hotel where I stayed! Hui was worried for us Hannah & me, 2 gals at Bangkok and asked his good friend to take care of us while we were there. This friend, Desmond was very kind too... asked his Thai friend Pi Tui to take care of us 'cos he knows the place well and he drives!

Really thank God for all His favor!!!! We went to different places to eat, free! 'cos they treated us!! Argg.. so good!!! First night, we went to this roadside cafe!!! So nice!!!! 'cos there was live singing... 2 guys and 1 gal sang!! Thai songs.. but so nice!!!! Wow, Thai sentimental songs are very nice! Then we went to this night market, but I only have 30 mins there before it closed. Brought a few cheap clothes. :)

The next day, we called up Pastor Walsh and arranged to go over to their home to stay!
But because Hannah and myself wanted to go shopping!!! at MBK, the biggest shopping mall... we decided to extend our stay at Bangkok Palace Hotel for another day. :)
We spent the whole morning searching for a good value hotel to stay in 'cos we tot its too expensive to extend our stay at Bangkok Palace.

Finally, we talked to this chief concierge, Yong. In the end, we got 40% discount!!! wow!!! hahaaa..... ok lah.... Praise God!!!

MBK was great! didnt manage to go to the 3rd floor and above... we needed 4 hours to finish the first 2 levels! Ha.... Oh, I did a cute thing. To take a passport photos whereby the person will fix my head to this suit. Yah, it looks kind of weird!!! hhaaa... but still quite cute! Busy shopping for my brothers, bro-in-law, sister, nephew, dad and friends. Brothers always complain I have no taste, or i brought the wrong size! hhaaa... my younger bro after since he went to NS, become bigger in size... more muscles now.. so have to wear size L. Ai yo, how I know!!!

That night, Hannah & I tried taking the BTS, like our MRT. So cute, I was taking photos eevrywhere we went. Then we met up with Pi Tui again at night where he brought us to eat at a roadside food stalls beside a University... Very cheap food...

Later, continue my shopping at the night market where I didnt manage to finish shopping the previous night!! Then we were reluctant to go back to sleep. We went to this super nice cafe!!! I was so impressed with the toilet that I took pics of the toilet too. Ha...

The next morning, Sat, we set off to Pastor Walsh's home to meet up with his wife, Mariyoka and their daughter, Kay. So sweet! The house was so lovely!! and they were so kind to prepare a nice room for us! How did I know Pastor Walsh?

Oh, actually it was so funny. I was searching on the internet for a nice church to visit when I was there at Bangkok. Back to last year Dec, Hannah and I actually planned for a short trip to Bangkok. Thank God that we did not get to go in the end... 'cos God planned this year church camp for us already! yeah yeah!!
So i emailed this church, Greater Grace Bangkok and this nice pastor replied and welcome us so much! We started to converse through emailing since last Dec till now... he is so kind to arrange for our stay there! :)

That Sat afternoon, we were blessed to join their outreach team to Mahachi. The team consists of a leader from India, Ryan! Anointed young man! A powerful translator, Thai gal, Jar! A humble & gentle Thai gal, Green! A 1 month old Christian, Wood! and Craig from Australia! Had a great time there! Was my first time sharing Christ in Thailand with a Thai lady and a translator for me! Thank God for the privilege! :)

Sunday was service at Pastor Walsh's place! Pastor Walsh is a man full of God's joy, wrapped in His abounding love! :)
Thank God for this family! A missionary family!! Lord, I pray for Pastor Walsh, Mariyoka and Kay that you will continue to watch over them, bless them richly as they serve you! God you are good & Your love endureth forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yeah yeah!!!!

Pi Tui was so kind to come to Pastor Walsh home to fetch us to the airport! Thank God for all His favor!

My family came to fetch me for dinner at 6pm when we reached Singapore! Yeah!

End of Bangkok story!!! :)

Pattaya beach! windy!!!

Pastor kenny's cute boy! so cute!!

Intimate, intense, inspire!

this is the theme of my church camp 2005!

I wanna write down some of the things that happened in this camp and also the sermons by Pastor Bruce Hills.

"Always give Jesus your best." 9/6/05 Bruce Hills

Bruce wrote this in my diary... something I will remember.

The week after I left my company was a full week of training at AIA.
Everyday I reached home at 11 plus due to nights of tutorials and activities.

The week after was my church camp... something i really look forward to.. after endless learning and exams.

What do I expect from this camp?
Fun, relaxation and inspiration.

I prayed with Hannah the day before the camp.

God answered them all! :)

This camp was relaxing, the events werent very packed. Just nice.. I get to wake up at 8am and do things that I wanted to during the free time.

FIRST day message:

Joshua 3:1-3
CROSS OVER

~ to possess the land
~ from the land of testing to the place of trumph!
God has prepared me for so long, it's time to cross over!

1. Face challenges POSITIVELY

Before every new things birthed, there will always be challenges/tests.
~always make God's promises my starting point!

2. Follow God's presence FAITHFULLY

Focus on God! He will do amazing things among you!

3. Consecrate myself carefully

~delicate myself, prepare for the new season.

4. Live COURAGEOUSLY

~cast the vision and make it happen

5. Obey God's leading

~obey God's leading even when it doesnt make sense!
obedience releases God's blessings!

6. Maintain my FAITH POSITION

~keep believing
~keep praying
~Keep fasting
~Keep pressing in.
DO NOT GIVE UP!

Destiny is not a destination, it's a journey!

Break away past negativity, unbelief and apathy & thinking in a whole new way!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I realised that I probably need to write alot 'cos there are 4 more messages to go!!!
well well..... guess I wont write everything down....
But one thing that I really bring home with me is this.
MAKE MY LIFE COUNT!
make my life count Lord!!
Lord, make my life count!
Make my life count for u Lord!
Pastor Bruce shared about how on the day his brother's body was carried down the graveyard....
He knew at that moment that Life is so fragile....
nobody knows whether tomorrow is certain.
and he uttered to the Lord, "Make my life count"
Yes Lord, make my life count for you. Everyday, wherever I am, make my life count for you!
This is my prayer I prayed.
*********************************************
This camp was so fun!!!!
I tried jet skiing for the first time!
hahaa.... I was so scared that I wished the ride stopped halfway...
I was screaming all the way .. when the local Thai guy who worked there sat behind me and zoomed all the way in the wave!
But that was really fun!!! :)
I wanted to try para-sailing but didnt in the end. Probably next time then! :)
The food was cheap and nice!!
Guess what, I gained 2 kg while I was there at Thailand... now that Im back, been trying hard to lose the fat.. hahaa.... (managed to lose 1kg so far)
Had a great time with my cell too! oh, the vibrant activites.... WOOWW>.... we got first runner up prize!!! my first medal !!! yipeeee!!!!!
Really really had a great time!!! Brother yong xiang made us laugh so much!!!
"we are a family! yeah!"
okok..... time to move on............... story at Bangkok.... to be continued...... :) :) :)
