Monday! Wow.... tiring Mon. Really feel like resting at home today!!!
Hmm..... I want to sleep! Lord, I pray that you will take away all weariness and tiredness. Help me Lord!

Last Sat, I went to Queenway with my brother Jeffery & sister Lifern to buy sports shoes! Decided to go to church on Sunday in order to spend time with them. In the end, I bought a pair for myself too! 36 bucks. nice purple + pink + white. Just that I got a size bigger... hopefully will not look weird in it. haa.... Already wearing now on Mon, going to jog finally after work with ah va.... hahaa...... :)

After that, I met up with Kai yan... went Cineleisure with her again! Great! Ate at the new food court then went to watch movie, white chicks.... not very nice, but ok lah.... :) Had a great time with her as usual... we went to sembawang 24 hrs coffee shop after the show to drink te chino too! ha..... tired... went home at 1 plus.

On Sunday, service was great too! Pastor Bishop continued with his brilliant sermon again... this time, he summarized everything he preached during the 4 services.

In Summary: (Bishop Thomas Muthee)

Season of transistion
  • Time to change
  1. Pray for the pastors.

We do pray, but sometimes... "good is the greatest enemy to best"

Pray more.

2. Walk in forgiveness.

Receive and give.

Keep my focus.

Concentrate on what God wants me to do, not complainting about others.

3. Resting

My promotion lies in my submission.

A man under authority has authority that works. ( this one requires a little thinking and digesting. =p)

Submit to authority and i will have authority.

Submission is protection, not punishment

Submit even when they don't understand me.

Submission unlocks my promotion.

Serve the man of God, serve faithfully.

True submssion is always to my benefits.

Submit to receive.

My destiny lies in my submission.

After service, I went out with Huimei to shop! Its our first official shopping date! However, we are both very tired.... didnt manage to buy any nice clothes. We went around for a long time to look for one decent place to eat... but everywhere was packed with people. We finally settled down at breeks (Taka). Later, we shopped at Isetan. I bought a necklaces for myself and one for my sister..... (in the end, she doesnt seem appreciative of what i have done... so sad)

We went to PepperPlus+ to shop for clothes. Chosen a few dresses for Huimei and she looked great in them! I tried on one and it was very nice too... but ops....... i must get rid of some fat before i can really look good in it... so hmm..... both of us didnt buy any dresses.

I decided to went back to buy for myself and Huimei next week when i received my pay! :)

okay, thats all for now!

Comfort for a Hurting Family - 10/21/04
Imagine yourself growing up with an alcoholic father. Even the meager income he makes as a taxi driver is squandered on his addiction, leaving your family with little money for household needs. You, your siblings and your mother live in fear of approaching the drunken man, lest you be met with one of his fits of rage. Worse yet, you have nowhere to turn for comfort: Your family adores and worships an unresponsive god.

For Pushpa in India, this harsh reality was a part of daily life. Her family lived in despair and restlessness. Thankfully, their story doesn’t end there. Their lives were forever changed one day when—for the first time—her mother, Sunita, met a Christian. The weary mother’s heart was stirred when she heard about Jesus, a responsive God who offered hope for life. Could it be? she wondered. She had never heard anything like this before. Continuing to listen, Sunita felt herself drawn by God’s divine love and joyfully received Christ as her Savior.

She couldn’t wait to get home and tell her family about this Jesus who saves and comforts. When they heard the wonderful news, they also received Jesus into their hearts—all of them except her husband. Sunita, Pushpa and her other children began living as people transformed by God’s sustaining power. Jesus could be trusted even in their situation, they realized. “My family has experienced security and peace in the Lord ever since then,” Pushpa expresses. Together they would pray and read the Bible. They were able to attend church and experience the love of fellow believers as well.

Pushpa especially wanted others to experience Christ’s love. “In time, I learned of the need for perishing souls to hear the Gospel,” she says. “The Lord gave me a burden for the lost, and I heard His call to ministry.” Pushpa enrolled in a Gospel for Asia Bible college to be trained for full-time evangelism among the unreached.

Give praise to the Father for how He looked with compassion upon this hurting family. Pray for their ongoing growth in the Lord and for the salvation of Pushpa’s father.

Saved from Death - 10/21/04
Ishwar only wanted to die. Life was no longer worth living. But just when he was ready to end it all, someone returned to visit—and to pray.

Ishwar had lost his younger brother to illness. Even the many deities his family worshipped brought them no comfort. A pastor came to the funeral and, with a heart of compassion, told them of Christ’s tenderness toward the brokenhearted. But the grieving family showed little interest. Again the pastor visited and shared about the hope found in Jesus. This time, he gave Ishwar a New Testament and encouraged him to read it daily.

Two days later, tragedy again struck in Ishwar’s family when his mother died from an incurable disease. Unable to deal with his grief, Ishwar decided to end his life. Killing himself was the only way out, he reasoned. But just in time, the pastor returned with words of hope and comfort.

Ishwar began to seek out this man of God, who related truths from the Bible and prayed for him. Through their friendship and the study of God’s Word, Ishwar saw his need for a Savior and received Christ. “The joy of knowing the Lord personally was incredible,” Ishwar wrote, “and He filled my heart with His peace.”

Ishwar eagerly became involved in a GFA Believers Church, where he experienced fellowship with other Christians. His commitment did not come without a price, though. "Soon persecution arose from my family," Ishwar remembers, "and they drove me out of the home. But my Savior stood with me, and He became my refuge and strength.”

Filled with a passion to serve Christ, and compelled by His love, Ishwar sought the Lord's direction. God called him into ministry and opened the door for him to enroll at a GFA Bible college. He thanks God for saving his life—and for calling him to take His message of hope to others.

10/07/2004: Update-GFA Pastor Released
Update story to 10/06/2004: GFA Pastor Beaten and Kidnapped! .

Pastor Tulsiram, who was recently kidnapped by anti-Christians along with his coworker, was released yesterday. We give thanks for God’s intervention on behalf of these GFA pastors, who lead a growing church in Chhattisgarh (India) with 50 new believers. The ordeal began two days ago when pastors Tulsiram and Vijay were beaten in front of their congregation and dragged away. Vijay managed to escape, but Tulsiram was kept overnight and beaten repeatedly. He was told to leave the village or be killed. Meanwhile, before a gathering of the village council, new believers shared how the Gospel has changed their lives. A village priest testified, "I was going in the wrong way, and was directing others to the wrong way. Now I have found the right path. I will follow this path only; others can, too." Alarmed by the genuine conversions, the council decided that the two pastors must leave the village and surrounding area. This step, they hope, will prevent further conversions and preserve traditional ways. Continue to intercede for our brothers in India as they follow God’s call to reach souls with His message of hope. Pray for the village council members and kidnappers to be convicted of sin and drawn to the Savior. Pray for Pastor Tulsiram and Pastor Vijay to remain close to the Lord and strong in their passion for lost souls in the midst of such opposition. Give thanks for their protection during this ordeal.

Some encouraging stories from GOSPEL FOR ASIA

10/06/2004:
GFA Pastor Beaten and Kidnapped!

Yesterday GFA pastors Tulsiram and Vijay in Chhattisgarh (India) were severely beaten and kidnapped by anti-Christian elements as they prepared to baptize 32 new believers—precious souls who have passed from spiritual bondage to new life in Christ. After beating them, their captors dragged them out of the village and took them to an unknown location. The kidnapping was part of a plan to stop them from continuing ministry in the village. By God’s grace Pastor Vijay escaped and ran close to 25 miles to tell the GFA district leader of the incident. The district leader informed GFA’s Chhattisgarh state office and also rushed to the village where the kidnapping took place in hopes of securing the other native pastor’s release. We still do not know Pastor Tulsiram’s whereabouts.
Please fervently pray for this urgent situation.

Pray that God will supernaturally protect and comfort our brother as his life remains in danger. Pray for his speedy release and growth in the lives of the people he has led to the Savior. Pastor Tulsiram graduated from a GFA Bible college in 2001 and began ministry among the unreached. The 32 people Pastor Tulsiram was getting ready to baptize yesterday were first fruits of his evangelism in the village. “He is committed to the Lord’s work and has established a good ministry,” says GFA’s central India leader. “Please pray for God’s grace to be upon the church and ministry in this area.”

We want to thank all of you who prayed for Pastor Kumar last week. Your prayers have made a difference. If you haven’t yet read the update of how Pastor Kumar and his church were protected last weekend as they worshipped the living God, you’ll be encouraged. Continue to remember this brother in prayer as he risks his life for the sake of Christ. Together we give thanks to the Father for courageous missionaries like Pastor Kumar who daily put their lives on the line to reach needy souls with the Gospel of Christ.

Thank God that He is working & very real......
I was praying for Pastor Kumar last week.... & very glad to know that He was protected by the Lord in today's mail! Amen... Continue to pray for missionaries at work in Asia.

me & a new found Japanese friend!

Me! with pretty Julin & handsome Chungwei!

Monday, October 04, 2004

halo! Its been so long... I better updated myself on what I have been doing.... busy busy days..... with so many things to do..... I better get an organiser soon. :p
Last Sat, I went to Julin & Chungwei's wedding. Hmm.... realli nice ambience...& Julin looked great! She was so xin fu... Chung wei sang her a song too... that was really nice!
On Sunday, decided to get something from Ikea.... finally went there.... did some shopping too at harbourfront! Great!
At night, I rushed back to causeway point to watch movie "the cool guy" with Li & Shan & their friend. Hmm.... so funny & yet so romantic..... Korean movie realli have a way to express love story.... always sweet, not like Singaporean show..... no trace of "romantism" at all... haha... :p

Applied for teaching again.... this time round, I think I'm serious about it... whenever I heard of people conversing their daily classroom experiences excite me....

God said, "Don't listen to men... trust with your heart... I will be here for you."

Teaching is my ambition...All through my years of growing up.... I never fails to ask a teacher about being a teacher.....

nonetheless, everytimes, they would give me very negative answers.... "super stress.... not easy..... you better think twice..... I wanna quit soon....."
No doubt, all their comments instill some fear in me.....

But God, I guess it s a passion that You place in my heart since young!
What are men's comments to yours?

Whatever it is, I knew in my heart that I would be a teacher one day.... in 3 months time, a year time, 3 years time, 10??
I will be a teacher! :)

"Lord, I commit all my plans into Your hands. Lead me in my destiny... guide me in all thye ways... "
